Rock Your Tunes; it’s magical energy!

*ATTENTION* – vulnerable moment here: I got caught by my 20-year-old son, Simon, shaking my booty and dancing my heart out while making dinner last Friday. I was sweaty. I was shaking every inch God gave me. I was singing. I owned my kitchen like I was Taylor Swift performing for millions.

It felt AMAZING!

As I spun around to face him, with oven mitts on my hand, sweat dripping down my face, and my body still wiggling, the look on his face is one I can’t even describe but let’s just say it was a combination of sheer horror and shock. I will never forget it. It’s actually hilarious now that I think about it. And while he probably needs therapy for what he witnessed as he turned the corner to walk into the kitchen, I only feel moderately embarrassed.

What he learned is that dancing feels good. Playing the music you love throughout your house creates an energy and positive mood you can’t escape. You’re never too old to boogie, have fun, let yourself go, and feel the rhythm.

PRO TIP: In keeping with our theme of ENERGY for the month of May, I want to challenge you today to play your music a little louder than normal and allow your body to respond to the energy it creates. Even if it’s just a toe tap or a head bob, don’t be afraid to let your body move. Energy doesn’t just happen. If you want more energy, you have to foster the moments to generate it.
